- Gold bars or wafers with a millesimal fineness of 995 or higher, and whose weight is in line with the provisions of the ninth section of the appendix to the Act.
- Gold coins that meet the following requirements:
- They must have a millesimal fineness of 900 or more
- They must have been coined after 1800
- They must have been legal tender in their country of origin
- They must be regularly traded for a price of no more than 80% more than the market value of the gold contained within them
Gold coins included in the overview published in the Official Journal of the European Union prior to the 1 December each year, and valid for the following year onwards unless modified, are considered to meet these requirements, and therefore constitute investment gold.
