A total of 48 countries and territories are promoting the new standard for the exchange of information on cryptoassets by 2027

A total of 48 countries and jurisdictions around the world, including Spain, have committed to working towards the implementation of the new international standard for the automatic exchange of information between competent tax authorities on cryptoassets by 2027.

This new standard is known as the Crypto Asset Information Communication Framework (CARF) and the modification of the Common Information Communication Standard (CRS), as approved by the OECD .

The CARF , which provides for the automatic exchange of tax information on crypto-asset transactions in a standardized manner, has been designed to ensure tax transparency worldwide in the face of the rapid development and growth of the crypto-asset market.

The exchange of information is a key tool in the prevention and fight against fraud and tax evasion, based on the efficient acquisition and use of information with tax implications.

Through this declaration, the signatory jurisdictions of the Common Information Communication Standard ( CRS ) also commit to implement the modifications to the CRS agreed by the OECD in accordance with the schedule planned for the implementation of the CARF .

The 48 countries and jurisdictions that have committed to signing the joint declaration on cryptoassets are the following: Germany Armenia, Australia, Austria, Barbados, Belgium, Belize, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States of America; United Kingdom Crown Dependencies of Guernsey, Isle of Man and Jersey; and the United Kingdom Overseas Territories of the Cayman Islands and Gibraltar.
