Medicine, healthcare products and cosmetic products
If you are a traveler who wants to bring medicines into Spain, find out about the requirements
The entry of medicines, medical devices and cosmetic products carried by travellers for their own use shall not be subject to prior sanitary intervention, although this may be carried out when, due to their quantity or their destination, it is advisable to do so.
Current national legislation allows travellers to carry their personal medication, although the traveller must prove that the medication is intended for their own administration or treatment. Proof that the medicines are intended for the traveller's own administration or treatment may be provided, for example, by a prescription or medical report.
Travellers who have questions regarding this matter can obtain information from the centres dependent on the Pharmaceutical Inspection Services of the Health and Social Policy Areas of the Government Delegations and Subdelegations, which are responsible for this matter.
