If your stay in the Canary Islands is to exceed 6 months, you must submit a definitive import declaration or request authorization from the Temporary Import Regime.
If you come from a country not belonging to the European Union (EU), the most appropriate customs regime would be temporary import. This regime is subject to authorisation. A simplified procedure is available in which you can request this authorisation in the customs declaration, and it being understood as granted with the release of the goods.
To make use of this procedure, you can submit your application through the procedures Authorization of the use of temporary importation, end-use, inward processing or outward processing in situations where art. 163 of the Delegated Regulation applies, which are found on this same page, or make an oral declaration to the customs office of entry by the owner of the vehicle or his representative, which may be required by the customs office to be made in writing.
Do not forget that the maximum period of stay in this regime in the customs territory of the EU will be six months.
