Errors in transit declarations issued at the customs office of departure
Operators are reminded that once the transit declaration has been issued at the customs office of departure, it cannot be rectified.
In the event of an error affecting the nature of the operation and which must be corrected, operators have the option of requesting the customs office of departure, through the electronic registry, to invalidate said declaration, in order to present the correct one.
Only in exceptional situations and provided that the goods to be declared are located in the same location initially declared may the operator receive the transit and request permission to unload at that location. Once the transit is completed, you can proceed to submit the new correct declaration.
The following are considered exceptional situations:
- Need to board outside the opening hours of the corresponding facility.
- Completion period very close to the expiration date established in the transit declaration itself.
- Any other expressly authorized by the customs office of departure.
In the event that this possibility is used, the operator must take into account the following:
-
It will be necessary to justify a posteriori the reason for such urgency and that the merchandise is in the location initially declared by providing the corresponding supporting documentation through the General Entry Registry (RGE). For this purpose, in said RGE the subject will be: JUSTIFICATION OF COMPLETION AT LOCATION OF SHIPMENT+MRN of the transit declaration.
-
If it is in a public location, you will not be able to request automatic completion from customs. (INDICATOR 007 Automatic completion U should not be filled in , since there are discrepancies due to the declaration having some error).
-
If you are in a private location without permission to download, when sending message CC044 you must include the discrepancies corresponding to the error in the declaration.
-
It is not possible to make use of this possibility without first having submitted an RGE requesting the invalidation, if we are present during the opening hours of the corresponding facility.
