Reminder to declare code 2000 as the preferential country of origin in the case of products originating from Western Sahara
It is recalled that, from 3 October 2025, products originating in Western Sahara subject to controls by the customs authorities of the Kingdom of Morocco will benefit from trade preferences under the new Agreement in the form of an exchange of notes between the EU and Morocco.
With a view to implementing these measures, two new certificates have been created in the TARIC
U179 = «EUR movement certificate. 1 with the following mention in English in box 7: "Dakhla Oued Ed-Dahab" or "Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra"
U180 = "Declaration of origin which includes the following declaration in English in relation to footnote no. 2 of the Annexes on the text of the declaration of origin: «Dakhla Oued EdDahab» or «Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra».
The country of origin code that must be entered in the customs declaration when using these proofs of origin is "EH".
In data element 16 09 000 000: Region or country of preferential origin/preferential regime of the customs declaration, the code «2000» must be declared.
