Transit procedure under a TIR carnet. Subject
The TIR Convention is defined as an international agreement that allows the transport of merchandise from the export customs of one country to the destination customs of another country, without having to carry out customs procedures at each border other than those provided for in said Agreement. based on the fact that the TIR carnet protects these transports, guaranteeing the payment of the customs and tax debt of the merchandise transported by the guarantor companies. The TIR carnet is a customs declaration for the transport of goods and constitutes proof of the existence of the guarantee. Currently, the International Road Transport Union (IRU) is in charge of providing the TIR carnets to the national guarantor associations.
