Electronic certificates on iOS mobiles
Skip information indexiOS How to import your electronic certificate
To import an electronic certificate to the mobile device, it is necessary to have a valid copy of it. The icon for a valid copy is an open envelope with a green certificate sticking out and a key, with the file extension .pfx or .p12.
It is advisable to use backup copies with a password and include them as attachments in an email. It is also important to access the email account from a compatible browser such as Safari and not through specific applications from email providers.
Click on the attached file with the corresponding .pfx or .p12 extension. The wizard will automatically start in "Settings" of the system. Click "Install." You will be notified that the settings will be modified. Press "Install."
Enter the backup password for the copy and click "Next." If everything is correct, the "Installed Profile" window will appear.
To check that the certificate is installed, go to "Settings", "General", "Profile". This last section is only shown if you have at least one imported signature.
Multiple certificates can exist in the system, however, it is not possible to import the same copy twice.
Importing the certificate using a different backup copy does allow it, even if it is an existing certificate (renaming the copy is not enough, it is necessary to obtain it again). In this case it appears repeated in the list of available certificates.
