File import errors
Skip information indexFRECH.The file was rejected ENCODING
If when you import a file into a web form or when you read a file for submission, the message "FRECH.The file was rejected. No record was imported', together with the code 'ENCODING', means that the file has been generated by an external program with an unsupported character set or special characters have been used when entering the data (apostrophes, accents, etc.).
In this case, we recommend that you contact the support service of the application you used to obtain the file. However, you can run the following checks:
- Open the file with a text editor, for example with Windows Notepad. From the "File" menu, "Save as" and from the "Encoding" drop-down, choose “ANSI" type.Rename the file before clicking "Save" so as not to overwrite the original file.Try importing the file again.
- If the problem persists, reopen the file with a text editor and use the "Find and Replace" tool to locate special characters such as apostrophes, accents, umlauts, etc. and replace them with a space.Save the file again under a different name and try importing the file now.
If the error still appears, report the errors to your program provider for more information.
