IX.5.8. Intermediate discharge
Article 18 of the TIR Convention
A TIR transport may be carried out, at most, through four (93) customs offices of departure or destination.
If part of the goods are unloaded at the intermediate customs office during transit, that customs office must act as both the customs office of destination and the customs office of departure for the purposes of using the TIR Carnet and the data contained therein.
The procedure described in section IX.5.3 must be followed; In particular, the preceding operation in the NCTS will be closed and messages IE006 and IE018 will be sent.
After unloading, the TIR Carnet holder will be responsible for filing a new declaration with the NCTS for the remaining goods. See an example in Annex 8.9, letter c).
