IX.7.3. Arrival of goods

Article 282 of the AE

The authorized consignee must notify the customs office of destination of the arrival of the goods by means of the "Arrival Notification" message (IE007) in accordance with the conditions set out in the authorization, so that the competent authorities can carry out controls, where necessary, before the consignee unloads the goods.

The "Notice of Arrival" (IE006) message will be sent to the customs office of departure or entry to inform them of the arrival of the shipment.

The destination customs office authorizes the unloading of the goods by means of the message "Unloading Authorization" (IE043) if it does not intend to inspect the goods before unloading. The authorized consignee must remove the seals, inspect the goods and unload them against the information contained in the TIR Carnet and the "Unloading Permit" message, record the unloaded goods in his books and, no later than the third day following the arrival of the goods, send the "Remarks on unloading" message (IE044) to the customs office of destination. This message will contain information about any irregularities detected.
