VII.2.4. Completion modalities

Each Member State/Contracting Party informs the holder of the procedure of the completion with the message "Cancellation Notification" (IE045). Please note that this message is for informational purposes only and has no legal value.

The guarantor may consider the transaction completed unless there is notification to the contrary.

The competent authority must contact the holder of the procedure, the guarantor or other competent authorities if there is no evidence (or if there are doubts) that the transit procedure has actually been terminated and the customs office of departure is therefore unable to finalise the procedure (see sections VII.1.2.2.1. and VII.3.2).

In order to ensure uniform application regardless of the mode of transport used, a similar approach should be followed, to the extent possible, with regard to simplified procedures specific to certain modes of transport.
