VII.5.3. Consequences of control

In light of the information received, the competent authority requesting the inspection will take appropriate measures.

However, where a (customs) debt arises in the course of a transit operation, the competent authority of the country of departure shall be responsible for initiating investigations, if necessary, and for determining the essential facts of the (customs) debt, the debtor and the competent authority for its recovery, in accordance with the provisions on debt and recovery (see Part VIII).
