Individual or joint tax return
Learn about the methods for filing your Income Tax returns
Option to file a declaration
When submitting your income tax return for each financial year, you can choose to file an individual or joint return if you are part of a family unit.
If you choose to file jointly, income of any type obtained by each and every member of the family unit is accumulated.
If any of the members of the family unit files an individual tax return, the remaining members must use this same taxation system.
Once you have filed your return individually or jointly, you can only change the option if you file new returns within the filing deadline. Once this period has ended, you will not be able to change the tax option for that tax period.
The option to submit an individual or joint declaration does not bind the family unit for successive years.
When submitting your tax return online with Renta WEB, if you enter the data corresponding to all the members of your family unit, the program will calculate the most favorable tax return.
