BTI (Binding Tariff Information ). Subject

Binding Tariff Information (BTI) is the only way to obtain a response from the customs authorities on the application of customs regulations regarding the tariff classification of a good.

IAV decisions will only be binding on tariff classification matters:

  1. For customs authorities, in relation to the holder of the decision, only in relation to goods whose customs formalities are completed after the date on which the decision takes effect.
  2. For the holder of the decision, with respect to the customs authorities, only from the date on which he receives or is deemed to have received notification of the decision.
