TARIC. Definition
The TARIC is a regulation of the European Union that includes the common customs tariff (duties levied on goods and other measures), and that satisfies the requirements of foreign trade statistics and the policies of the European Union (commercial, agricultural or other nature) relating to the import or export of goods.
The European Union Tariff is based on the Combined Nomenclature (CN) which is published annually in the Official Journal of the European Union before October 31 and enters into force on January 1 of the following year.
The Combined Nomenclature is divided into three parts:
- Preliminary provisions.
- Coding and rights table.
- Tariff annexes.
