How to create a backup copy of your electronic certificateSkip information index
Windows - Copy of the certificate in Google Chrome
To make a copy of the e-certificate from Google Chrome, go to the "Customise and control Google Chrome" menu at the bottom of the address bar and go to "Settings".
Click on "Privacy and security" in the left margin, then on "Security" and click on "Manage certificates".
On the "Personal" tab, an electronic certificate should appear. To make a backup copy (export), select the relevant certificate and click on "Export...".
Then open the "Export wizard".Click "Next" and then tick the box "Export private key" (if you have just obtained your certificate and it cannot be ticked, there may have been a problem with the download or installation;in that case, contact the certificate issuing entity).
On the following screen, leave the options that are ticked by default and press "Next".Depending on the browser version, you may be prompted to password protect the copy. This option is also indispensable for later importing the certificate into a browser such as Mozilla Firefox. If you forget your password there is no way to recover it.Click "Next".
Click on "Examine" to select the location where you want to save the certificate copy, give it a name and press "Save", "Next" and then "Finish".
If all went well, the message will appear "The export was completed successfully".
The icon for a valid copy is an open envelope with a green certificate sticking out and a key, with the file extension .pfx.If the extension is not displayed, right-click on the certificate icon and go to "Properties".
If the box "Export private key" cannot be ticked, the result would be an invalid copy (the file would have the extension .cer and the icon would be a certificate without any key). The private key is the personal information contained in the certificate and without which it is not possible to sign.
If the copy were not valid, it would be installed on the "Other persons" tab instead of on the "Personal" tab and the certificate would not be valid to work on the AEAT website. If at any time you need to reinstall (import) your certificate and you do not have a valid copy, you must request a new certificate.
