How to request the invitation letter to register in Cl@ve
To carry out an electronic procedure using the Cl@ve system, you must first have registered in this system using the options available on the Tax Agency website, in the app Cl@ve PIN, or in person at a registry office.
If you do not have an electronic certificate, nor do you wish to go to a registry office in person, request the invitation letter to receive it at the tax address that appears in the census of AEAT.This is why your tax address must be up to date on our database.
To request this invitation letter, access the option "Register in Cl@ve” available in the section “Cl@ve Registration".
You can also request the letter from the Cl@ve PIN App.
On the first screen, enter your full DNI or NIE and the rest of the fields will be enabled to identify you.
- DNI:8 numbers and letter (without space or hyphen)
- NIE:letter 7 numbers and a letter (without spaces or hyphens)
If it is a DNI you will have to provide the date of validity or the date of issue if it is a permanent DNI (01/01/9999), in dd-mm-yyyy format.
If it is a foreigner's card, residence permit or EU citizen's certificate , after indicating NIE, you will be asked for the support number that appears on the document.
In either case, at the bottom of the screen, you will see links that you can click on to consult the help and locate and correctly enter the date or media number, depending on the type of document.
When you click Continue’, the information entered will be validated. If everything is correct, the next window will inform you that you need to have an invitation letter to register in Cl@ve. If the application is recorded correctly, a message will appear confirming the dispatch of the invitation letter to the tax domicile that is currently registered in our databases.Click on "Accept".
Once you have received the letter, access the same option of the “Cl@ve Registration" portal, "Register in Cl@ve” and provide the requested data:DNI or NIE and the expiration or issue date of the DNI or the support number.
Now check the option "I already have an invitation letter" and click on "Continue".You can also register via video call, from a mobile device or from a computer with a camera, microphone and speakers.Remember that this can only be done in your own name.
Locate the 16-character CSV (Secure Verification Code) that contains the communication and enter it in the available field.Just below, a link is provided to help you locate the detail in the letter.
The information requested in this final registration step in Cl@ve is the mobile telephone number where you want to receive the SMS sent by the AEAT with your PIN and, optionally, an email address. If the mobile phone has an overseas number, you must also provide the country code.
If the system detects that the mobile phone number entered is linked to another DNI/NIE, you will receive an SMS message with an access code to complete your registration. There will be a section in the registration application for you to enter this code.
Registration at Cl@ve PIN allows only one mobile phone number per user.In this case, access to the system Cl@ve is automatically disabled for the previous DNI/NIE associated.
