How to register for Cl@ve PIN

To identify yourself with Cl@ve PIN in the procedures that admit it as an identification system, you must be previously registered in Cl@ve.
If you do not have an electronic certificate, you can register online, either by requesting the invitation letter (sent by mail to your registered tax address) and completing the registration with the Secure Verification Code (CSV) or by video call
Note: Registration via CSV or video call is a basic level of registration in Cl@ve.Some bodies other than AEAT may require an advanced level (registration in person or with an electronic certificate) to access their most common procedures.
Here are the steps to register with CSV:
Go to the “Register for Cl@ve” option on the website.
You can also request the letter from the Cl@ve PIN app.
Start the registration process by indicating DNI/NIE.
- DNI:8 numbers and letter (without space or hyphen)
- NIE:Letter 7 numbers and a letter (without spaces or hyphens)
Depending on the type of document indicated, different additional data will be required below:
- If it is a DNI: state the date of validity.In the case of a permanent DNI (with period of validity 01/01/9999), the data requested is the issue date.At the bottom, there are two help links explaining how to locate the validity/issue date on the different types of DNI.
- If it is a NIE: the support number on the document will be requested.You can display the help links “How to find the support number...”, explaining where to find this information on your foreign-national card, residence permit or EU citizen certificate, and how to fill it in correctly on the registration form.For more information on the support number, you can also consult the help point "Enter a valid support" (How to enter the support number)".
The information entered will be validated when you click “Continue”,.If they are correct, the next window will offer the two ways to register online without an electronic certificate:with CSV, following a request for a letter of invitation, and by video call.
Click on the button "Yes, please send me an invitation letter to my tax address".
If the application is recorded correctly, a message will appear confirming the dispatch of the invitation letter to the tax domicile that is currently registered in our databases.Click on "Accept".
Once you have received the letter, you will have to complete your registration by once again accessing the same option "Register in Cl@ve" of the portal "Cl@ve Registration" and providing the requested data:DNI/NIE and date of validity/issuance or support number.This time, check the option "I already have an invitation letter" and click on "Continue".
In the following step, enter your 16-character Secure Verification Code (CSV) included in your letter, and click 'Continue'.If you cannot find it, check the help point “How can I find the CSV in my invitation letter?”.from the bottom.
The information requested in this final registration step in Cl@ve is the mobile telephone number where you want to receive the SMS sent by the Tax Agency with your PIN, and an email address.If the mobile phone has an overseas number, you must also provide the country code.
Important note: if the system detects that the mobile number entered is linked to another DNI/NIE, you will receive an SMS with an access code to complete your registration.There will be a section in the registration application for you to enter this code.Remember that Cl@ve PIN registration allows only one mobile phone number per user.In this case, access to the Cl@ve system for the previously associated DNI/NIE is automatically disabled.
After you accept the conditions and click on "Send", you will see a screen with the activation code displayed.click on "Visualizar PDF" to obtain the Cl@ve registration receipt, which you can save and print.
The document contains an activation code that allows you to activate the Permanent Cl@ve, as well as activation instructions and the terms and conditions for using the system.

Identification with Cl@ve PIN
