II.2.2. Movement of goods within the Union
Article 154, letter a), of the CAU and
Article 119, paragraphs 2 and 3, of the AD
When Union goods move from one point to another within the Union's customs territory, which may involve the goods temporarily moving outside that territory, they will lose their Union status from the moment they leave the Union's customs territory. However, in specific situations, these Union goods may temporarily circulate outside the Union's customs territory without affecting their Union status. There are three possible circulation scenarios:
- under a customs regime;
- without a customs regime being applied, but with proof of Union status;
- without a customs procedure being applied or proof of Union status being presented.
These three possibilities are developed in the following sections.
