IV.2.3.8. Release of goods

Article 40 of Appendix I to the Convention
Article 303 of the AE

Once the following procedures have been carried out at the customs office of departure, that is, after having:

  • submitted the declaration at the customs office of departure;
  • verified the data of the declaration;
  • admitted a transit declaration;
  • a possible control has been carried out;
  • the guarantee having been provided, when required (see Part III);
  • the deadline has been set;
  • the itinerary has been set, where appropriate;
  • placed the seals, where appropriate;

the goods will be released for transit. The relevant messages are transmitted:

  • the message “Lift for traffic” (IE029) to the declarant;
  • the IE001 message to the destination customs office;
  • the IE050 message to the customs office where you pass, if applicable.

The content of these messages comes from the transit declaration (corrected as appropriate).

CUSTOMS
Once the formalities have been completed, the customs office of departure:

  • will validate the transit declaration; will record the results of the control;
  • will register the guarantee;
  • It shall send to the declared customs office of destination and to the customs office(s) of transit (where applicable) the message IE001 and, where appropriate, the message IE050; and
  • will print the DAT (including the LdA, if applicable).
