How to obtain an electronic certificate
Skip information indexHow to obtain accreditation if you are outside Spanish territory
Citizens who are not resident in Spain may manage their electronic certificate through Spanish Consular Offices abroad, provided that it is a certificate from the National Mint and Stamp Factory.
To obtain the certificate through an issuing entity other than FNMT , it is necessary to contact said entity if that possibility exists.
Obtaining a certificate from the FNMT basically consists of three steps: application via the FNMT website, personal accreditation at the consulate or embassy (you must provide the code obtained at the time of application and the requested documentation) and, finally, download the certificate also from the website of this certifying entity. The fourth recommended step is to make a backup copy of the obtained certificate so that you can recover it if necessary.
More information about this procedure can be found on the CERES (Spanish Certification) website. However, you can also contact their Customer Service by sending an email to ceres@fnmt.es.
Legal persons and entities without legal personality not resident in Spanish territory may also manage to obtain the electronic certificate of the FNMT through the Spanish Consular Offices abroad authorized for this purpose.
