How to be accredited for obtaining an electronic certificateSkip information index
How to confirm your identity if you are not in Spain
Citizens who are not resident in Spanish territory may manage their electronic certificate through the Spanish Consular Offices abroad, provided that it is a certificate issued by the Spanish Mint.
To obtain the certificate through an issuing entity other than FNMT, it is necessary to contact this entity if this possibility exists.
Obtaining certification from the FNMT mainly consists of three steps:online application on the FNMT website, personal accreditation at the consulate or embassy (you must provide the password you will receive when making the application and the requested documentation) and, lastly, download the certificate, also from the certifying entity website. The fourth step recommended is to make a backup copy of the certificate obtained so that you can recover it if necessary.
More information on this procedure is available on the CERES (Spanish Certification) website. You can also contact the Customer Service Desk by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
Legal and private entities registered outside Spain can also obtain electronic certificates from the FNMT through Spain's Consular Offices overseas, without having to travel to Spain.
