IX.2.2.3.4. Notification to the European Commission and Member States

Article 229 of the CAU

The competent customs authorities shall without delay record in the ITDB the exclusions pursuant to Article 38 of the TIR Convention. With such registration, the European Commission and the other Member States will be deemed to have been notified, as provided for in Article 229(2) of the UCC.

The accuracy of this data is beyond the control of the European Commission, so Member States must exercise due caution when denying an operator access to the TIR regime. If in doubt, contact the TIR coordination centre of the Member State that notified the exclusion.
