Metals and Precious Stones
For purposes of Law 17/1985, platinum, gold and silver are considered precious metals. Objects made from precious metals are those that contain, in whole or in part, platinum, gold or silver in the established legal proportion. Likewise, the provisions of the Law must be complied with for the manufacture, trafficking and marketing of these objects.
There are no special requirements for the export of precious metals. Exports will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of customs regulations without requiring compliance with any other formalities.
For the purposes of Council Regulation (EC) No 2368/2002, a system of certification and import and export controls for rough diamonds is hereby established in the European Union for the purposes of applying the Kimberley Process certification scheme.
