Fluorinated gases
He Regulations (EU) Regulation (EU) 2024/573 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 7 February 2024 on fluorinated greenhouse gases, which amends Directive (EU) 2019/1937, and repeals Regulation (EU) No 517/2014, establishes conditions on the import, export, introduction, production, supply and subsequent use of fluorinated greenhouse gases and of products and apparatus containing such gases or whose operation depends on such gases, except in cases of temporary storage (Art. 22).
These conditions are, among others: obtaining a license by registering on the Fgas Portal , having a quota or authorization for use (substances in Annex I Section I), labeling obligation and compliance with the provisions to benefit from exemptions to the prohibitions in Annex IV.
The competent authority in Spain for the interpretation and implementation of European and national regulations on fluorinated greenhouse gases is the General Subdirectorate for Climate Change Mitigation of the Spanish Climate Change Office of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, whose email address is: fluorados@miteco.es.
