Fluorinated gases
Regulation ( EU) 2024/573 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 7 February 2024 on fluorinated greenhouse gases , amending Directive (EU) 2019/1937 and repealing Regulation (EU) No 517/2014, lays down conditions for the import, export, introduction, production, supply and subsequent use of fluorinated greenhouse gases and products and equipment containing such gases or whose operation depends on such gases, except in cases of temporary storage (Article 22).
These conditions are, among others: obtaining a license by registering on the Fgas Portal , having a quota or authorization for use (substances in Annex I Section I), labeling obligation and compliance with the provisions to benefit from exemptions to the prohibitions in Annex IV.
The competent authority in Spain for the interpretation and implementation of European and national regulations on fluorinated greenhouse gases is the General Subdirectorate for Climate Change Mitigation of the Spanish Climate Change Office of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, whose email address is: fluorados@miteco.es.
