Possible errors in the use of the electronic certificate

Your request cannot be attended to at this time: error code 40909

Code 40909 is usually an identification error. It is necessary to check the status of the certificate and verify in the certificate store if there are expired or invalid certificates that may interfere with the signature.

First of all, it is advisable to obtain a backup copy of your personal certificates.

Afterwards, you should check the installed certificates and delete any expired or invalid ones.

Microsoft Edge

Access the "Settings and more" menu, located at the end of the address bar, identified by the three horizontal dots icon, and click "Settings." Click on "Privacy, search and services" on the left margin, locate "Security" and click on "Manage certificates".

In the "Personal" tab, check if the certificate is expired or if there is an incorrect certificate. Select it and press "Remove".

Google Chrome

Access the Google Chrome settings menu, located in the right corner of the window with the three vertical dots icon. Check "Settings" and click on "Advanced Settings" to load the rest of the options. Under "Privacy and Security" click on "Manage certificates".

The certificate must appear in the "Personal" tab for the installation to be valid. Check the "Expiration Date" column and who the certificate was issued to. If there is an expired or incorrect one, select it and delete it.

Mozilla Firefox

Go to the "Tools" menu or the icon with the three horizontal lines, "Options", "Privacy and security", "Security", "Certificates" and press the "View certificates" button. Check the installed signatures in the "Your certificates" tab, verify that they are all correct and if any are not or have expired, select them and click "Delete...".

On Mac with Safari or Google Chrome go to "Finder", "Applications", "Utilities", "Keychain Access". From "Login", select "My Certificates" and check if the existing certificates are correct and current.

If there are expired, incorrect or incorrect certificates installed that do not correspond to the certificates of the holders, it is advisable to delete them.
