The code 40909 is generally an identification error.You need to check the status of the certificate and whether there are any expired or non-valid certificates in your certificate store that may interfere when it comes to signing.
First of all, it is advisable to obtain a backup copy of the personal certificates.
Then, verify the installed certificates and delete any that have expired or are not valid.
Go to “Tools”, or the icon in the form of a wheel located in the upper right corner of the browser, and click “Internet Options”.Under the “Content” tab, click on “Certificates”, and in the “Personal” tab, check whether there are any expired electronic certificates and ensure that they do not correspond with an individual or corporate person with an electronic certificate.If so, select it and remove it by clicking the "Remove" button.
If the certificate has expired or if there are any incorrect certificates, select it and click “Remove”.
Got to the Google Chrome settings menu, which you can find on the upper right corner of the window, with three vertical dots.Click "Settings”, and then “Advanced settings” to see all the options.In "Privacy and security”, click on “Manage certificates”.
The certificate must appear on the "Personal" tab for the installation to be valid.Check the “Expiry date” column and who the certificate is issued for.If any of the certificates has expired or is incorrect, select it and remove it.
Go to the "Tools" menu or to the icon with the three horizontal stripes, "Options", "Privacy and security", "Security", "Certificates" and click the button "See certificates".Check in the tab "Your certificates" the installed signatures, verify that they are all correct and if any of them is not correct or has expired, select it and press "Delete...".
On Mac with Safari or Google Chrome go to "Finder", "Applications", "Utilities", "Keychain Access".From "Start session”, select “My certificates” and check whether all of the certificates are correct and valid.
If there are any certificates that have expired, are incorrect or that do not correspond with those of the holders, we recommend that you delete them.
