Skip information indexTax Form 180.Filing by form
Form 180 is filed via TGVI online, a system that validates whether the file contains correct and erroneous records, allowing the partial filing of the correct records and the downloading of a file with the details of the records with errors.
We recommend that you clean up the register of the taxpayers via the Tax Identification Service prior to filing the return to avoid identification errors.
Filing online requires identification with the electronic certificate, DNIe or Cl@ve PIN of the taxpayer. If you are going to use a certificate or DNI electronic, click on the link "Access with certificate or DNI electronic" and, if you are going to use Cl@ve PIN, enter DNI or NIE in the corresponding field and the contrast data.
In addition to the holder of the tax return themselves, a third party acting on their behalf, either a corporate partner or a proxy, may also submit the tax return.
Note that the online form is available if the tax return contains up to 40,000 records. If you exceed this threshold, you will need to use the submission through file option.
To correctly view all parts of the form, before accessing, check the zoom and font size set in the browser (once the tax return has been submitted you can go back to the previous zoom and font size).
In Microsoft Edge, click on the three horizontal dots. In zoom, select 100% using the "+" and "-" symbols. Click on the three horizontal dots again to enter "Settings". Select "Appearance" and under "Fonts”, "Font size" select "Medium (recommended)". Under "Page zoom" select 100%.
In Google Chrome, go to "Settings" (by clicking the three vertical dots), "Appearance", "Font Size" and select "Medium (recommended)". Under "Page Zoom" select 100%.You can also select 100% zoom from "Zoom in/out".
On Mozilla Firefox, access the three line icon, in "Size" select 100% with the "+" and "-” signs, click "Options", "General", "Language and appearance" and in "Fonts and colours" select a size lower than the current one, if you do not see the form correctly.
On Safari, go to "View", "Zoom" or "Zoom Out".
In the initial window you will need to identify the taxpayer with their NIF.Then choose one of the options to access the form:
- Continue. It allows you to register a new tax return by entering all the data.Enter the taxpayer’s NIF and click on "Continue".
- Import. You may import a file in BOE format that follows the registry design of Form 180 in force, obtained with the form itself by exporting the tax return or with a third-party program. The limit of records will be 40000.
- Import previous year. The data from the previous year will be imported from the active registers of the previous year at the time of the consultation. To do this, you must access the form using the electronic certificate, DNIe or Cl@ve PIN of the filing taxpayer, corporate collaborator who submitted the tax return the previous year or a proxy who submitted the tax return the previous year or a proxy to the consultation of the tax return. It is not possible to import data from the previous year if the tax return exceeds 40000 records. Please note that once the tax return has been registered, this option will not be available.
If there is a saved work session or a previously submitted declaration, the application will show you the available options:
- In case there is a saved but not submitted working session and you wish to recover it, check the box "Load working session from dd/mm/yyyy";
- If you have filed a tax return and would like to add, remove or modify records, check the box "Load the tax return filed on dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss ".
- To create a new tax return check the box “Create a new tax return”.
Select an option and click "Continue".
This takes you to the first page of the tax return, the taxpayer’s page and the summary. If you need to modify a tax return already submitted, load the submitted tax return in the initial window by checking "Load the submitted tax return on dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss" and make the changes, additions or deletions from the recipients' pages.
If you have uploaded a previously submitted tax return, the "Submitted on” column will show the date and time each record was submitted. In the "Status" column you can check the correct and erroneous records or those with warnings.
From this panel of recipients you can add and delete records and access the detail of each one to modify them as you deem fit.You have the "New record" button, identified by the icon of a blank sheet of paper with a green cross (+) above it, to register a new recipient and the buttons to delete a selected record or delete several records at the same time.
If you select a recipient and you click the "View the selected recipient” button you will be able to access the detail and modify the details of the fields already filled in.
In the Form 180, in the panel of recipients, you also have the "Issue certificates" button to generate individual or collective certificates, provided that the tax return contains no errors.Once you have selected the recipient, click “Issue certificates” at the top.You can obtain more information on the issuing of certificates through the help "How to issue certificates for Form 180".
From the list of recipients, you can make consultations by setting filter criteria.Click on "Consultation" at the top and, in the new window, set the filtering criteria and click on "Consultation".
A new tab will be activated at the bottom, next to the tabs "Sections" and "Errors", called "Query", which displays the queried information according to the set criteria. The record information is extended in a single row across the width of the form so it is necessary to use the horizontal scroll bar to consult the rest of the boxes. However, by double-clicking on any of the results, the registration information appears at the top of the form.
At the bottom of the screen you can find the options available in the form.If the buttons or sections are not displayed correctly, check the font size and zoom that you have set in your browser.
If you want to obtain a draft for reviewing the data before submitting the tax return, you have the "Draft" tool to generate an invalid PDF for submission with your tax return. The draft will be displayed on the screen;however, from the 'click here to download pdf' link you can download it to your computer. Please note that in order to correctly view the draft you need a PDF viewer, preferably updated to the latest version compatible with your operating system. To return to the return, click on "Return to return" at the top of the draft tax return window or, if you want to file a new return, click on the "New return" button.
To check for errors in the tax return, click on the "Validate" button. If it contains errors or warnings, the "Errors" tab will be enabled with the description of the error or warning and the "Go to Error" or "Go to Warning" button, as appropriate, which directs you to the box to modify or complete.
Using the option "Download error list" a file will be generated in XML format with all the errors detected, which you can open or save on your computer.
If the tax return does not contain errors, you will receive the message "There are no errors".
The "Save" option allows to store the data filled in until that moment on the AEAT servers, even if they are not validated (they may contain errors or be incomplete); If a tax return has been saved previously, it will be overwritten.Data is retrieved by going to the online form again and selecting the option "Load the work session from dd/mm/yyyy".
The form has a waiting time for inactivity. We recommend that you save the tax return to avoid losing the information.
The "Import” button allows you to import a file, which has been made according to the current registry design, the same way it enables you to access the form.
Once you have selected the file, the application will offer you two possibilities:
- A - Delete all existing Recipient records and import. With this option you will delete all the current tax return and get a new tax return with the data that was in the imported file.
- B - Add recipient records to the current tax return. This will keep the current tax return and add the new records to the existing ones.
Using the "Export" button, you can generate a file with the format of the published logical design, provided that the tax return does not contain errors, and save it in the path you want. The name of the file is the name and NIF (Tax ID No.), followed by the file extension .180.You can recover this file by accessing the web form again and clicking "Import" on the bottom button or in the initial window.
After validating and saving the tax return, you can submit it by clicking on the "Sign and Send" button. In the new window, check the "OK" box to confirm the filing of the tax return. The text box will show the content of the tax return in code. Finally, click "Sign and Send" to continue the filing.
The result of a correctly submitted tax return will be a reply page with an embedded PDF, the first page of which contains information on the tax return filing (registration entry number, Secure Verification Code, receipt number, date and time of tax return filing and details of the taxpayer).
However, if there are correct and incorrect records when filing the tax return, you will be informed that the filing has been partially completed. If you return to the list of recipients, the filing date of the new records will have been updated and the unfiled records will remain in the list with the incorrect status.
Correct incorrect records and, if you wish, you can delete records or add new ones.Validate the tax return and resubmit the complete tax return with all the records, i.e. the previously correct ones plus the modified and/or added ones.
